Frequently Asked Questions
Who can apply?
Those Baltimore County resident students currently grade 8 or 9 who are NOT zoned for Lansdowne High School may apply to any of the three academies. Students who are zoned to attend Lansdowne High School do not need to apply and can opt to participate in magnet courses when registering. See which high school you are zoned for by visiting Baltimore County Public Schools (arcgis.com).
Will transportation to and from Lansdowne High School be provided?
Students accepted into a Lansdowne High School magnet program and are zoned for a Western Baltimore County public high school (Milford, Pikesville, Randallstown, New town, Owings Mills, Franklin, Western Tech, Woodlawn, and Catonsville) can take a magnet school bus from their zoned high school to Lansdowne High School and back each day. Transportation to and from their zoned high school is not provided. Students zoned for the other Baltimore County public high schools must provide their own transportation to and from Lansdowne High school.
