Commitment to Full Academic Year of Virtual Learning
Parents of students enrolling in the DLP@LHS are required to commit to their choice for a full academic year. This is critical in order to limit staff moves throughout the school year which causes disruptions for our students.
Additional Requirements for Distance Learning Participation
Lansdowne Area Residency
The DLP@LHS is only available to students who maintain a primary residence in Baltimore County where they are assigned to Lansdowne High School. While families of virtual learners may enjoy some travel and parental visitation flexibility, the primary registering parent must remain a full-time resident. The school may periodically request updated proof of residency to ensure compliance with this requirement.
Mandatory Student Assessments and Events
All virtual learners are required to be brought to the Lansdowne High School building for participation in the following mandatory testing sessions and events each year (see chart below).
In addition to the mandatory assessments below, parents should also be prepared to bring students for proctored testing for national assessments, such the SAT.
Students failing to participate in any mandatory assessment will be placed on academic probation and be at-risk for removal from the DLP@LHS. Please see the Virtual Program Probationary Status section for more information.
