Frequently Asked Questions

Who can apply?

Those Baltimore county resident students currently grade 8 or 9 who are NOT zoned for Lansdowne High School may apply to any of the four academies. LHS zoned students will elect to be in one of the three academies when they enroll at LHS. See which high school you are zoned for by visiting http://www.bcps.org/apps/Boundaries.

Will transportation to and from Lansdowne High School be provided?

Students accepted into a Lansdowne High School magnet program and are zoned for a Western Baltimore county public high school (Milford, Pikesville, Randallstown, New town, Owings Mills, Franklin, Woodlawn, and Catonsville) can take a magnet school bus from their zoned high school to Lansdowne High School and back each day. Transportation to and from their zoned high school is not provided. Students zoned for the other Baltimore county public high schools must provide their own transportation to and from Lansdowne High school.
